How Popnota works

Popnota is a text-only "thought square." Notes from people around the world drift by — read them, like, save, reply, follow whoever you like, or share a thought of your own.

Reading

• Scroll the home feed to browse notes; tap any card to open it and read the full thought and its replies.
• Pull down to refresh for a fresh set of notes.
• Long-press a note to enter immersive reading — a distraction-free, full-screen view. Swipe left and right to move from one note to the next; long-press again to leave.
• Tap 🔍 to search notes.

Sharing a note

Tap the compose button, pick a mood, write a line, and send it up. Notes are screened by an automated safety filter before they go live.

Replies & @mentions

• Open a note and use the reply box to respond. Tap Reply on a comment to reply to it directly — your reply nests under it.
• Type @ to mention someone; matching usernames appear as you type. Mentioned users get a notification (unless they've turned @-mention alerts off).
• Like a note or a comment with the heart, and save notes with the star.

Messages

Open someone's profile to start a direct message. Messages are private between the two of you, and you can send stickers as well as text. Messages from people you don't follow arrive in a separate requests box, so your inbox stays calm.

Your account

• Sign in with Apple, Google or your email to share, like, reply, message and follow.
• Your username is random at first — change it anytime under Settings → Account. Your own Thoughts, Responses, Liked, Saved and History live under the profile 👤 tab.
• Switch languages anytime from Settings; your choice is saved to your account.

Themes & personalising

Popnota is free to use. If you'd like to dress it up, the shop offers extra background themes, note-card designs and avatar styles — cosmetic only, so they change how the app looks without affecting anything you post. There's also an "unlock everything" option. Purchases are handled by Apple and restore across your devices.

Notifications

Replies, mentions, follows and new messages show up in your Inbox 💬. You can turn @-mention alerts on or off in Settings.

Staying safe

You can report or block any user from their note or profile. Blocked users can't see each other's notes or replies.
